Mission

Rochester Genealogical Society is an all volunteer organization dedicated to helping members improve research skills and broaden their enjoyment of family history.

The Society was formed to:

• Promote individual and community awareness in genealogy and family history;

• Encourage original genealogical research and publication of findings;

• Publish a quarterly newsletter;

• Promote genealogical education within the Society and the community;

• Hold genealogical workshops and special interest group meeting;
  

• Organize field trips for Society members to research centers;

• Sponsor projects to promote and preserve genealogical knowledge; and

• Support worthwhile genealogical activities of other organizations
